The Renowned American Standard Toilets

American Standard is considered the largest producer of bath products worldwide. It is a common household name in homes all across the United States. It is estimated that 60% of all homes in the United States have some or the other American Standard product in their homes, including American Standard toilets.

American Standard was not always known by this name. It was initially started in 1875 and in 1899 came to be known as the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company after it incorporated many small plumbing units into one company. This company was an industry leader and developed the first one piece toilet. By 1929, it had the distinction of being the largest manufacturer of bath fixtures in the world.

In 1929, the Standard Sanitary Manufacturing Company joined hands with the American Radiator Company, and the American Radiator and Standard Sanitary Corporation was formed. In 1967, this corporation finally came to be called ‘American Standard’.
