Portable Car Toilet From Japan

Here's a problem I can relate to - going on a long drive, or being stuck in traffic, and needing to "use a facility". Well, once again, Japanese innovation comes to the rescue. Japan's Kaneko Sangyo Co. just announced its portable toilet which is small enough for a car and even provides privacy!

The kit, which will fit in a suitcase, comes with a cardboard toilet bowl that needs to be assembled and lined with a water-absorbent sheet. The toilet is set up on the back seat, has a curtain for privacy and traps the waste in a plastic bag that is then tightly sealed.

The company will start selling the car toilet online by November 15, 2007, for 4725 yen (about US $40). I don't have details about availability in North America or Europe, but it's a product I'm certainly interested in.
